COURSE DETAILS

Medical lab technicians prepare samples for analysis, use equipment to locate microorganisms, monitor tests and procedures, analyze the chemical content of fluids, match blood for transfusions, and test for drug levels in the blood. Additionally, graduates from this course are trained to clean and maintain lab equipment, manage biomedical waste and adhere to quality control standards.

Objectives

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, utilizing appropriate quality control and safety procedures.
• Perform routine clinical laboratory procedures within acceptable quality control parameters in Hematology, Chemistry, Immunohematology, and Microbiology under the general supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Pathologist.
